not even 24 hours

Nineteen hours ago (1:30 a.m. Eastern today), the news broke that Senator Ted Kennedy had died. Within minutes, we already had people using his death to wave the pass-health-care-instantly flag.

The President has promised a bill will be passed in some form or another and the Kennedy death might be the symbolic impetus that is able to get a bill through the Senate and House.

The SYMBOLIC IMPETUS? In other words, they're going to guilt-trip people into voting for whatever bill comes up "because Ted would want it," and condemn them for disrespecting his memory and spitting on his grave if they vote against it.

What a despicable lack of class and respect for the dead. Wait until he's buried before invoking his name to attempt passage of your bill, for crying out loud.
